«Frente a la rigidez de las formas» ofrece al público una visión poliédrica de la sociedad y la cultura españolas. Preocupada por preservar las tradiciones y códigos, pero desde una mirada actual, la artista sevillana aborda, no sin ironía, los estereotipos de la identidad nacional, con un enfoque particular en las experiencias contemporáneas e históricas de las mujeres andaluzas y las tradiciones arraigadas en el folclore.

Su trabajo multidisciplinar en vídeo, performance, instalación, dibujo, fotografía y artesanía, establece un diálogo crítico entre el compromiso social y la refinada estética formal. La denuncia de la desigualdad, los prejuicios y el dualismo convive con el humor, la emoción, la vivacidad cromática y la belleza estética.

Con la tradición popular como punto de partida, la artista defiende la modernidad, entendida como libertad de pensamiento y despojada de prejuicios culturales, sociales, de género o religión. Este proceso se consigue mediante la introspección, revisando la historia y liberando la tradición y el ritual de clichés establecidos en otra época por razones políticas e históricas.

“条框之外” 为公众观察西班牙社会和文化提供了多维视角。阿尔瓦拉辛致力于从当代视角来保护传统和规范，不无讽刺地探讨了西班牙民族性的刻板印象，尤其聚焦西班牙民间传统以及安达卢西亚妇女或当代或历史的经验。

其创作涉及影像、表演、装置、绘画、摄影和手工艺等领域，形成社会责任和精致形式美学间的思辨对话，以幽默语汇、充沛情感和色彩丰富的表现之美揭示着不公、偏见和对立。

艺术家从流行传统出发，通过内省回溯历史，重新审视过去陈旧繁冗的传统和礼仪，剥离其中政治历史各方原因树立的陈词滥调，以此捍卫现代性：解放思想并摆脱文化、社会、性别或宗教规训。

Facing the rigidity of forms offers the public a multifaceted view of Spanish society and culture. Committed to the fight to preserve traditions and codes, but from a current perspective, the Sevillian artist addresses, not without irony, the stereotypes of national identity, with a particular focus on the contemporary and historical experiences of Andalusian women and the traditions rooted in folklore.

Her multidisciplinary work in video, performance, installation, drawing, photography and craft, combines social engagement with formal aesthetics. Condemnation of inequality, prejudice and dualism coexists with humour, colour and beauty, in parallel to the defense of Spanish and other cultures.

With popular cultural and artistic tradition as her point of departure, the artist defends modernity, understood as freedom of thought, divested of prejudice based on geography, culture society, economics, gender or religion. This process is achieved by introspection, revisiting history and liberating tradition and ritual from clichés established in a different age for political and historical reasons.

Preocupada por preservar las tradiciones y códigos, pero desde una mirada actual, la artista sevillana aborda, no sin ironía, los estereotipos de la identidad nacional, con un enfoque particular en las experiencias contemporáneas e históricas de las mujeres andaluzas y las tradiciones arraigadas en el folclore. Una extensa e inabarcable obra multidisciplinar, que incluye vídeo, performance, instalación, dibujo, fotografía y artesanía. Albarracín establece un diálogo crítico entre el compromiso social y la refinada estética formal. La denuncia de la desigualdad, los prejuicios y el dualismo convive con el humor, la emoción, la vivacidad cromática y la belleza estética.

PILAR ALBARRACÍN (Sevilla, 1968) es licenciada en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de Sevilla. Desde principios de los 90, su obra se ha mostrado en prestigiosas exposiciones colectivas e individuales, en museos, fundaciones y galerías de todo el mundo, entre ellos: el Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de París; el Hamburger Bahnhof de Berlín; el PS1 MoMA de Nueva York; Istanbul Modern Sanat Müzesi; el National Center for Contemporary Arts de Moscú, y el Kiasma Museum de Helsinki. Ha participado en bienales en lugares como Quebec (2017), Busan (2014), Venecia (2005), Santo Tomé y Príncipe (2008), Moscú (2005) y Sevilla (2004).

Muchos de los proyectos de la artista se han desarrollado en lugares históricos, tanto en España como en el resto del mundo: American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center, Whashington D.C, Estados Unidos (2023); Tabacalera, Promoción del Arte, Madrid, España (2018); Théâtre National de Chaillot, París, Francia (2015); Musée National Pablo Picasso La Guerre et la Paix, Vallauris, Francia (2014); Les Moulins, Centre d’art le LAIT, Albi, Francia (2010); Reales Atarazanas, Sevilla, España (2004).

Fue reconocida con la condecoración de Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres por la República francesa (2020) y recibió la medalla de la ciudad de Sevilla (2023).

PILAR ALBARRACÍN (Seville, 1968) holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Seville. Since the early 90s, her work has been shown in prestigious collective and individual exhibitions in museums, foundations, and galleries around the world, including: the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris; the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin; PS1 MoMA in New York; Istanbul Modern Sanat Müzesi; the National Center for Contemporary Arts in Moscow, and the Kiasma Museum in Helsinki. She has participated in biennials in places such as Quebec (2017), Busan (2014), Venice (2005), São Tomé and Príncipe (2008), Moscow (2005), and Seville (2004). Many of the artist’s projects have been developed in historical places, both in Spain and around the world: American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center, Washington D.C., United States (2023); Tabacalera, Promotion of Art, Madrid, Spain (2018); Théâtre National de Chaillot, Paris, France (2015); Musée National Pablo Picasso La Guerre et la Paix, Vallauris, France (2014); Les Moulins, Centre d’art le LAIT, Albi, France (2010); Reales Atarazanas, Seville, Spain (2004). She was awarded the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres decoration by the French Republic (2020) and received the medal of the city of Seville (2023).
